In Loving Memory of Allan Wallace (Moto)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Allan Wallace, known affectionately as Moto, who departed this world on January 5th, 2024, at the age of 59. A cherished son, friend, sportsman, and legend, Allan's departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of many and the Touch community.

Moto, the Human Lawnmower, Tatou Tatou Great, graced our lives with his vibrant spirit in the sport of touch. His journey as a sportsman was nothing short of extraordinary, marked by notable achievements in the sport of touch, such as being in the first NZ Mixed team to play at a World Cup. He was also the first Mixed player to transition into the NZ Open Men's Team at the 1991 World Cup in Avondale Auckland as well as being a BOP Mixed National Champion and BOP Men's Legend!

Beyond the accolades, Allan was a man with a heart as grand as his achievements. His contagious laughter, wicked sense of humour, and generous nature endeared him to everyone fortunate enough to know him. As a friend, teammate, and opponent, Allan's presence on and off the field was a testament to the true spirit of sportsmanship.

A dedicated member of the Putaruru Rugby Club and an original member of Tatou Tatou Touch, Allan's contributions went beyond the game. He was a source of joy, camaraderie, and a binding force within our community. His adventures and excursions, often filled with shenanigans, are etched in our memories, reminding us of the vibrant soul we have lost.

Rest in Love, Allan Wallace (Moto). Forever in our hearts.
