Touch New Zealand Pathways and High Performance Programme - Creating and providing Valued Opportunities for Pathways and Elite Players, Coaches, Referees and Support Staff.

Touch New Zealand has developed a programme that focuses on producing World Class Players, coaches and support networks. We have a targeted approach to athletes, coaches and referees through talent identification, recruitment and selection, training and development and assessment and mentoring.

Individuals are invited into and out of the programme at all levels and are monitored and assessed with individual performance plans established. The unique nature of our sport requires us to focus on the three grades represented at all levels of the game: Mens, Women’s and Mixed.

The programme starts at Under 16 level, our entry into our Junior programme. This has a focus on developing the wider game and the people in it. 
The Youth programme is the introduction into the International Level of Touch with Trans Tasman’s and World Cups on offer.
The Touch Blacks programme is the elite level of the game. These athletes and coaches compete against the best in the world and have a goal of winning at World Cup level. They play annually in a Trans Tasman Programme that keeps the competition fierce.
The Masters programme is a continued opportunity to represent at an International level. It has many grades on offer from 30 Women’s to Over 50 Mens.
The referees programme sees the top level officials working to be number 1 in the World. 

The programmes at all levels will be structured and comprise of a shared vision in order to accelerate the development of our athletes to world class level, with the Touch Blacks being number 1 in the World.
